Tolerance Band
The permitted variance between the ordered, received and invoiced amounts before a match is rejected — so that a two-dirham rounding difference does not stop a payment run.
Tolerances exist because perfect matching is impossible and pointless. Freight rounding, currency conversion, a partial delivery — these produce trivial differences that a rigid system would escalate to a human, at a cost far exceeding the difference.
And they are the most-exploited control on the page. A supplier who learns your tolerance will invoice just inside it, every time. The counter is cumulative monitoring: an individual difference within tolerance is fine; the same supplier being consistently and slightly over is not an accident.
