Document Register
The controlled index of every project document — its number, title, current revision, status, and issue history. It is what makes a document set navigable, and what makes a superseded drawing findable before somebody builds from it.
The register is the difference between having documents and having a document system. Without one, currency is a matter of belief: the drawing on the wall is current because nobody has heard otherwise.
And the register is what an auditor, an insurer or a tribunal asks for first, because it is the fastest way to establish what the project knew and when. A project that cannot produce a clean register is going to spend the dispute explaining itself rather than defending itself.
